SAMIP is a full-blown convergent communication server built round highly integrated innovative technologies. It uses the standard protocols and languages (SIP, HTTP and HTML, XML) and has interfaces (Ethernet, Wi-Fi, TAPI) for interoperability across different networks, systems, hardware and software devices, including those of 3rd parties.
SAMIP accommodates distributed configurations on broadband interconnections that deliver big benefits for cost cutting, especially for multi-branch companies and private virtual networks.

Use of IP protocol and standard languages enables SAMIP to operate as a convergent platform for CRM, Contact/Call Center applications integrated into company IT systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Enterprise Process Management (EPM).

The SAMIP platform is based entirely on the SIP protocol, working alongside XML and HTTP, the two market standards for IP networks, for data exchange, and the RTP protocol for streaming data flows.


The SIP protocol means flexible use of new generation terminals and applications such as SIP phone, Wireless SIP phone, Softphone for PCs and palmtops. XML is one of the basic languages in the development of new Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) systems and is therefore vital for interaction between communication applications and other IT applications. SAMIP gives the customer instruments for creating new applications services by integrating those already available on the platform.

CTI APPLICATIONS


The SAMIP platform is able to support many 1st Party and 3rd party applications.
The TAPI acronym (Telephony Application Programming Interface) identifies the group of functions
supported by Windows, that allows the creation of applications to manage services supplied by
telephone equipment, independent of the characteristics of the equipment in use.
The TAPI applications can belong to two distinct types which can be principally distinguished by the HW
context in which they operate:
• the so called 1st Party applications, that are designed to supply Personal Telephony services
and control, in general, a single telephone device;
• the so called 3rd Party applications, that are designed to supply IVR and TTS services and
control many telephone lines/resources.



SAM Desktop Communicator Professional/Supervisor (BUP/BUP+)

The SAM Desktop Communicator is a software
application that through the TAPI interface, provides a
simply and useful tool for the management of telephone
communications from a terminal employing an intuitive
user graphical interface.
The SAM Desktop Communicator is an application that
runs in the background and on arrival of a call employs
its graphical interface to display the calling party name,
if present in the directory, accept and answer the call,
transfer a call to other internal extensions, set up a
conference and also provides a complete log of calls
made and received. Through the same interface it is
possible to consult the voice mail.

The SAM Desktop Communicator permits:
• the management of the traffic from the actual telephone;
• the monitoring of telephone traffic of many telephone;
• the display of calling/called party name using
   the application’s  personalised telephone directory or from
   the Microsoft Outlook® application.
• personalised configuration of some services like
   call forwarding, etc..




The SAM Desktop Communicator Professional’s main operations
include:
• Basic operations: make and answer calls,
display calling party name/number, place
on-hold, call transfer, set up a conference,
refuse calls, configure fixed call forwarding;
• Management of the telephone directory for
caller identification. Integration with
Microsoft Outlook™;
• Log of the outgoing, answered and
unanswered calls;
• SAMIP forwarding: configuration of the fixed
call forwarding towards another extension or
a user in the public network:
• Monitoring the state of many telephone extensions;
• Multi-language: the application and help-on-line available in different languages.
The additional functionality offered by the SAM Desktop
Supervisor (BUP+) includes:
• Control panel for multiple calls (answer, on-hold,
transfer);
• Parking of the calls and management of the park queue;
• Advanced management of PBX forwarding
• Management of distribution lists;
• Integration with Voice mail:
• Complete integration with third party software (e.g. MS
Access, MS outlook, Goldmine).
